MEET THE TEAM
Wallend-Air is the oldest and most experienced paragliding school in the country. Established in 1987, our core team has over 102 years of flying experience and 140 000 flights. Our master pilot, Pete Wallenda, literally wrote the South African paragliding training manual, and has served as chairman of the paragliding aviation board (SAHPA) for the last 4 years. Our qualifications are above reproach, both nationally and internationally. All our pilots are SAHPA certified and TFI (Tandem Flight Instructor) licensed.

Considered to be the father of Paragliding in South Africa and internationally recognised as a man of consummate experience, Pete has been sharing his love of paragling for over 37 years. He owns and manages Wallend-Air paragliding, is the chairman of SAHPA and is actively involved on a national level. He literally wrote the manual.
Pete is an instructor & TFI pilot (tandem flight instructor) and has represented South Africa three times at the world championships.

Sue is our youngest grade A instructor in the team and has been flying since 2013.
She is our fun loving socialite and always up for a flight especially when she has someone to share it with. Sue is always happy to take to the sky sharing her ability and passion for flying looking for more female pilots to join us in the sky’s.
