Comfort and performance. With the new SENSIS SWING presents a sophisticated leisure intermediate for a broad group of pilots in the mid-LTF / EN-B segment. A glider, which excels with simple and precise handling, combined with a pleasant damping, pitch stability, high passive safety and impressive performance. The SENSIS is a balanced fun wing, which gives a lot and asks little. Made for leisure pilots, who want to enjoy themselves with recreational thermaling and/or cross country flying, as well as fun & freestyle. It is forgiving and easy to control, even in turbulent air. It offers maximum control and is very stable. An elegant, compact wing, which simply feels good, almost like flying by itself and that allows you to enjoy your flight experience with all your senses.

Gipsy Guided Paraglider Tour - Thermalling in Europe!

Posted on Thu, Aug 28 2014 16:28:06

This years European tour was a great success as we travelled though Europe, under Pete's razor-sharp guidance, to hunt for the best thermals and lodges. Big mountains, beautiful views and long flights...
All good things must come to an end...we now return to the shop to prepare for more good things: tandem paragliding (passenger flights), cross country flying (far and high), more tours and paraglider training courses through the beautiful Cape Town summer!

SWING news: New Connect Reverse EVO Harness is out

Posted on Fri, Jun 06 2014 11:51:32

Dear SWING-Fan.

With this Newsletter, we proudly present our new harness:

Connect Reverse EVO

Fly and like!

The world's probably best-selling convertible harness is now available as a completely revised new version. We have kept the proven and well tested features, as e.g. the carrying system "Alpine Back System” by the alpine backpack specialist Deuter. In the further development and optimization, we have listened to our customers and invested a lot of time. We proudly present the result: proven and well tested, but much better.

We kept numerous proven and favored functions and features of the predecessor. In other points we conducted improvements. The Connect Reverse EVO now features among others the following characteristics:

New optimized and lighter belt system
New, optimized geometry (dampened, yet precise)
Deuter carrying system "Alpine Back System"
Easy transition from take-off to flying position
Air-flow independent multi-chamber airbag (shape by titanium foam hybrid construction)
Lowered waist belt
light materials
easy to adjust buckles on the straps, that will stay 100% in position
smooth acceleration system
markings for recommended standard pilot position
Velcro-less rescue channel system (signal color in the open state)
lightweight aluminium buckles
optimized lid pocket (easier , greater access)
even lower weight: only 3.95 kg in size L
and a lot more

Videos

In time with the presentation, we also produced a video starring the Connect Reverse EVO gedreht. It features Daniel Tyrkas explaining all the details.
In further videos we demonstrate how to install the speed bar and the rescue. Have fun watching!

Swing Core 3 wins Western Cape Open

Posted on Thu, Feb 27 2014 07:09:46

Congratulations to Stef Juncker after winning the Western Cape Open 2014 (again)!

First to reach goal in 4 of the tasks, Stef flew his Swing Core 3 further and faster than a field of strong xc pilots from around the Western Cape.

From the Porterville competitions site:

The Porterville Paragliding Opens are CIVL ratified Category 2 paragliding events usually held in December or February in Porterville.

Over the years these events have had different names such as the Winelands Open, the All Africa Open, the South African Open and of course the South African Nationals.

Competitions are open to all pilots who hold the correct FAI license.  Pilots usually compete over a period of 7 days.  Weather permitting, a different task is set every day and tasks are scored with the aid of a GPS.  A task typically consists of a number of virtual turnpoints or waypoints that a pilot has to fly over in a predetermined order until the final waypoint or goal is reached.  Tasks typically range in distance from 50 to 80 km.  The race winner is the pilot who completes the task in the shortest time.  Pilots who land short of goal only score distance points.  Points earned during the event count towards a pilot’s world ranking.
